On 27 February, Lions Club Erasmus president Tom Wirion handed over a cheque for €10,000 to the director of the Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf foundation, Mr Régis Thill.
This gift from the LC Erasmus club will help finance a therapeutic farm called the Schneider Haff.
The farm will accommodate at-risk adolescents aged 13 to 16 who may have emotional, social or behavioural problems resulting from bad experiences in their lives.
During their stay, they will be helped through a therapy which consists of communicating and caring for animals. This well-known animal therapy has been proven to be a positive element in helping people overcome their traumatic experiences and return to a normal way of life.
The financial support offered by LC Erasmus is part of the charity work carried out for their Coins for Kids' project, which has been running since 2002. The project's objective is to support children in need, both in Luxembourg and other countries worldwide, such as Moldova and India.
